Building Physics has to ensure suitability and quality. For building materials, building components and construction methods in order to enhance the quality of thermal insulation, sound insulation and moisture protection. That all is done for enhancing the indoor environment quality and establish sustainable buildings. Historically, the term building physics has arisen in the mid-twentieth century and was part of the field technical science. At that time, many untested construction methods were used and resulted in numerous structural damages because of disrespect of not known building physics rules and relationships. The initiative of understanding those relationships led to innovative methods of calculation which were significantly influenced and explored by Professor Stehno and Professor Suntinger-Schrampf. That scientific- and physical work was then the base of the field theoretical building physics which provided opportunities for calculation and observation.
Because of quality management reasons it should be an initiative to integrate building-physics during all architectural design processes of buildings in order to deliver the best result for its inhabitants.
